Please check out the January 2009 issue of Marie Claire magazine.  Page 124 and their shopping directory mentions, Emu Oil Source and a product we feature, Maintenance Plus.

Here is an excerpt from the Marie Claire article regarding emu oil:

“The indigenous communities in Australia have always used this to moisturize. Also, if you’re burned or have eczema, it’s just incredible.”

Emu Oil Black Eye Helper

Written by admin on October 26th, 2008

Recently a friend of mine had an accident after partying with some friends all night and late into the wee hours of the next morning. He was at a ski lodge and occupied the top bunk. Just 2 hours after going to bed, he decided to go to the bathroom. Unfortunately, he forgot where he was and consequently, fell and hit his nose on a chair on the way down. His cut was bad enough that it required stitches. He also developed a black eye and other bruises on his face.

I suggested that he try pure emu oil to help heal the cut and to reduce the black eye and swelling. He agreed and I poured some emu oil into a paper cup. I explained to him that all he had to do was topically apply the emu oil to the effected area.

I saw him a few days later and was amazed to see the swelling and black eye had been greatly reduced. He excitedly shared the great results he achieved with emu oil with many people that day and thanked me for giving it to him.

Emu Oil – Black and Blue Skin Marks

Written by admin on July 7th, 2007

Recently my wife had a mishap on her bike. While crossing a road on her bike she hit a large pothole, causing her to lunge forward over her handle bar and fall on the ground. Much to her embarrassment and to the concerns of passing motorists she brushed herself off. However she was too shaken by her ordeal and decided to walk the rest of the way home.

Upon getting home she found several large black and blue blotches all of her legs from her fall. My wife rubbed emu oil over the bruises. Within day’s large areas of her skin started to turn back to normal color.

I attribute the quick improvement of her skin to the emu oil. It’s hyper-oxygenating powers draw blood to the applied area of skin. This helps improve blood circulation and speed up healing.

Emu Oil Offers Hope to Diabetics

Some Physicians Using Emu Oil To Assist In Diabetic Wound Care

San Angelo, Texas – Diabetic wound care has been of great concern to physicians for many years and with good cause. Even simple wounds take twice as long to heal and they always have the potential to deteriorate into something severe. Over 150 million people worldwide have diabetes and the number is expected to double by 2010. Of these, it is estimated that at least 15% will develop foot ulcerations and that related complications will require 3% to have a lower limb amputation. However, some physicians are finding that the addition of emu oil to the treatment regime for diabetic wound care offers some hope in the battle to save limbs.

Dr. Robert Winston, a Jackson, TN physician, states that his use of emu oil has shown promise. “I have treated several diabetic wounds with antibiotics using emu oil as a transport from the outside in,” the doctor said. “The results have been amazing.”

The use of emu oil as a carrier for antibiotics may offer diabetic patients and attending physicians some hope in the battle to promote healing and find ways to lessen the extent of the prolonged and painful traditional treatments usually involved in the treatment of decubes. Dr. Winston will be a guest speaker at The 2006 Emu Oil Seminar for Medical Professionals on July 15. The seminar is being held in conjunction with the American Emu Association National Convention, held this year at the Madison West-Marriott Hotel in Middleton, Wisconsin. Area medical professionals are invited to attend the event which takes place from 1 to 5 PM.

A board certified internal medicine practitioner at the Eastside Medical Center in Jackson, Tennessee, Dr. Winston has practiced medicine for over 25 years. He enjoys staff privileges at Regional Hospital of Jackson, Jackson-Madison County General Hospital and Meharry Medical College Dept. of Continuing Education.

Emu Oil and Dry Hair

Written by admin on May 3rd, 2007

Emu oil is becoming more and more recognized as a beauty aid. It is well known that it helps skin heal and become softer and suppler. It also can help hair become more shinny and lustrous and add moisture to dry hair. Try adding one or two drops of pure emu oil to the shampoo you squeeze out of your shampoo bottle. Don’t go overboard. A little bit can go a long way.

Emu Oil vs Dandruff

Written by admin on February 17th, 2007

This is just a note to tell you how well Thunder Ridge Emu Oil works as a hair conditioner. My husband and I are both using it. He uses just a few drops on his hair while it is still wet after his shower. It adds body and is not at all noticeable. His hair stays combed all day even in light winds. In my case I use it very sparingly to add body and thickness. And most surprisingly, the continuing use of Emu Oil has eliminated by lifelong problem with dandruff. My scalp is now clear. Emu Oil is a superior hair care product and the price is so low in comparison to any other commercial product, that you don’t realize that just a very few sparingly applied drips are all that is required. My recommendation is unconditional and you may refer people to me if any questions arise.

Written by admin on January 31st, 2007

Per our conversation, I wanted to get this to you before your show on Friday. I truly enjoyed speaking with you the other day. I apologize for the difficulty we had in connecting.

I have had Fibromyalgia since 1991 and also I have had four back fusion surgeries, and neck fusion as well as hip surgery. I also have osteoporosis as well as experiencing severe sciatica daily. I started using your suite of products a few months ago. Through the years I have tried many products with absolutely no relief whatsoever. What a surprise when I tried the Thunder Ridge Emu Farm Intensive Pain Relief, Emu Oil, and Emu Moisturizer. I cannot tell you how much relief I have found from using your products. I use them in the morning, evening and sometimes during the day depending on the severity of my pain.

Additionally, I have a severe case of Carpal Tunnel Syndrome and I have found using your products have really helped my hands, wrists and arms. I would recommend your products to anyone who experiences pain. I cannot tell you how much the Thunder Ridge products have helped me.

If you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact me in the future. Thanks for developing these products! I wish I could tell everyone suffering pain about Thunder Ridge Products and how much they have reduced my pain.

Most Sincerely,

Marte Olender
